Awards presented by the Association
The Association can present various awards, including the :-
CONSTANTINE, instituted with the object of encouraging papers containing original materials or other matter conveying the most useful information to the Association upon the practice and theory of engineering.
BUTTERWORTH MEDAL, instituted with the object of enhancing the value of the discussions on papers read before the Association and specifically of encouraging the members to contribute to the discussions.
One of each of the above may be awarded each session
THE AWARD FOR ENGINEERING EXCELLENCE, is made from time to time to an individual, organisation or firm based in the Greater Manchester area. The recipient is considered by the Council to be a leading exponent in their particular field, having achieved an outstanding reputation for consistent quality over a considerable period of time and /or having made a significant contribution to the advancement of engineering.
